Roasted Shrimp

Roasted shrimp tastes incredible in soft tacos, the possibilities are endless with a little chili sauce or with pasta.

Shrimp is low in calories yet rich in nutrients. It is quite nutritious and provides high amounts of certain nutrients, such as iodine, that aren’t abundant in many other foods. Shrimp is high in cholesterol, but it also contains nutrients including antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to promote heart health. This recipe offers a lot of health benefits. 

Coating the shrimp with spices may take up to 2 hours however the cooking time only take about 10 minutes. The ingredients listed below can serve up to 4 persons. Try this delicious recipe especially if you love shrimps!

Ingredients:

  • 20 large shrimp, peel and devein (do not remove the tail)
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • Kosher or sea salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves
  • Juice from 1 lime

Cooking Procedure:

  1. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F, or see the instructions for grilling. 
  2. Mix garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika and cilantro in a large mixing bowl. To mix, apply oil and whisk. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Let stand, wrapped for 2 hours in refrigerator.
  3. Oven Method: In a non-stick cooking sheet or casserole dish, spread the shrimp evenly. Roast for 4-5 minutes, or until opaque and rosy. Remove from the oven and apply the lime juice. 
  4. Grilling Method: Start heating the grill. Put four shrimps on each skewer. Cook the shrimp on an oiled rack on each side for 2 minutes, or until it is pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and use lime juice to drizzle.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
