Keto Hamburger Recipe

A classic hamburger sounds good right about now, but what if it’s designed to fit your diet? This classic Keto hamburger recipe is a twist from the original classic hamburger, only it’s made for Keto. If you are on a Keto diet, then you’ll want to try this right away. It’s delicious, home made, and instantly satisfies your cravings. 

Ingredients: 

For the Keto hamburger buns: 

  • 5 tbsp ground psyllium husk powder 
  • 1 ¼  cups of fine almond flour 
  • 2 tsp baking powder 
  • 1 tsp sea salt 
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional) 
  • 3 egg whites 

For the hamburger Patty: 

  • 1 oz olive oil or butter for frying 
  • Salt 
  • Pepper 
  • 2 oz shredded lettuce 
  • 1 ¾ lbs ground beef 
  • 1 thinly sliced tomato
  • 1 thinly sliced red onion 
  • 5 oz bacon 
  • ½ cup mayo

Classic Keto Hamburger Recipe Cooking Procedure:

For the Keto hamburger Buns: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) 
  • In a large bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients together. Boil the water and add the boiled water to the mix along with the egg whites, and vinegar. Make sure to mix it thoroughly for about 30 minutes. 
  • Form the dough into individual pieces of bread (one for each serving). On top of the mixture, sprinkle the sesame seeds. Make sure to leave some space on the baking sheet placed in the oven for when the bread starts to double in size. 
  • Bake for 60 minutes on the lower part of your oven. When done, set aside. 

For the Keto hamburger patty: 

  • On a skillet set the fire to medium heat and start cooking the bacon. 
  • Once the bacon is done cooking set it aside and form the hamburger patties. Grill them or fry them and season it with pepper and salt to taste when the burgers are almost fully cooked. 
  • Split the Keto hamburger patty in half and add some mayonnaise according to your preference on each half.  Then start building your hamburger. 

Useful Tips: 

When mixing the dough for the buns, make sure not to over mix it as it could turn into a play-doh texture.
